SIRMIONE (BS)
The narrow peninsula of Sirmione extends for approx. 4 kms into the Southern
part of Lake Garda. On its tip the Romans built a beautiful villa of which
the remains, which are called the Grotte di Catullo, can be visited. In
the middle ages the small city of Sirmione was protected by its castle,
strategically positioned on the only way of access; the castle can be
visited and offers incredible views of the lake. The curative nature of
Sirmione's already known in ancient times: the Thermal Baths are supplied
with the precious sulphurous waters of the Boiola springs. Both in the
Thermal Baths on the peninsula, the Catullo and the Aquarius, and in the
Virgilio Baths on the mainland, inhalatory treatments are carried out
as well as mud bath therapy, specific types of massage and treatments
for vascular and dermatological problems.
